Job description
This is an important new position in world leading software company Adobe. To be responsive to customer requirements, the team uses development and testing methodologies with short release cycles to develop its core code base and is in the process of developing fully automated systems to run automated tests nightly on all system code.
The Quality Engineer will work closely with other staff members to maintain and manage the test infrastructure as well as being part of the quality and release process for the products for which the team is responsible. This position is strictly for a highly technical candidate with a proven testing track record in delivering large complex initiatives within aggressive timescales. The suitable candidate will need to be adaptable to align to project diverse requirements.

Line Manager:
The Quality Engineer will report to the QA Manager and will be joining a team of 6 other people located in Moldova, London, San Francisco and Israel.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for all the QA activities in for the assigned projects including:
- Execute test cases
- Enter clear, reproducible bug reports
- Write test cases
- Coding automated test cases
- Working with team on implementing and executing load and performance testing

Functional and non functional test specification, execution and reporting.

Maintenance of test environment and the software deployment process.

Building a close relationship with development and operations teams.

Required experience, qualifications and skills:

Strong technical background, experience in testing or integration of complex Java distributed solutions.

Experience in performing test analysis and writing test case in loosely structured environments is required.

Very good communication skills at oral and written level for business and fellow technical colleagues are required.

Experience in writing and testing to formal specifications would be an advantage.

Works independently using engineering practices to evaluate enhance and maintain existing quality methods & processes.

Makes good technical decisions and completes tasks & assignments under only general direction

Demonstrates self-initiative and self-motivation and recognizes problems that need further investigation seeking assistance only when needed

Independently determines and develops approach to solutions for a wide range of technically difficult problems, under only very general direction.

Knowledge of SQL

Solid working knowledge of Unix/Linux
- Other useful additions to the candidates CV:
- Experience in Java development
- Experience in C / C++ development
- Experience in high transaction distributed load environments
- Experience is system administration (Unix or Windows)
- ISEB Foundation certificate in Testing

Education: A Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or
equivalent discipline or a Scientific degree/MSc
