BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Under the general supervision of the Cultural Affairs Specialist performs a variety of responsible administrative duties relating to specific cultural and educational programs. The incumbent manages the administrative aspects of PAS exchange and cultural programs, which includes but is not limited to: drafting and sending of notification letters, collection of necessary documents from participants, data entry into EVDB, maintenance of paper and electronic files, visa referral and processing (in coordination with Embassy Consular Section and appropriate government ministries), scheduling and coordination of participant travel, organization of lodging for visiting American specialists and scholars, arrangement of translators, drafting of reports, ordering of pamphlets and supplies necessary for programs.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. University degree in liberal arts, education, social sciences, international relations, or related field is required.
2. Minimum two years progressively responsible administrative experience required, preferably with extensive database management and word processing tasks.
3. Level 4 (Fluent) speaking/reading English is required. This will be tested. Level 4 (Fluent) speaking/reading Romanian and Russian is required. (Please indicate in the Application form/resume the level of knowledge of all three languages). Incumbent must be able to provide ad hoc translation and interpretation in all three languages.
4. Must have good knowledge of Moldova’s political, economic, social, and educational structure; governmental and non-governmental institutions, and of key figures of Moldova’s educational and cultural circles.
5. Must have advanced database and word processing skills.
6. Must have the ability to schedule work so as to meet tight deadlines.
