Technical Operations Assistant

Job Description:
The Technical Operations Team is the point of contact between the business and the infrastructure and development provider to ensure technical stability, operability, and compliance with scheme and regulatory controls. They are also responsible for requirements gathering within the business, prioritization of development activities, testing of development and new features, and ensuring that production dates meet business expectations. The team is responsible for incident management and escalation within the business to ensure impact and criticality are clearly defined and reported as required. Technical Operations is also responsible for Information Communication Technology in line with regulatory requirements.

As a Technical Operations Assistant at Moorwand Solutions, you will play a vital role in supporting our technical operations team in various tasks related to maintaining and optimizing our systems and infrastructure. You will work closely with senior technical staff to ensure the smooth operation of our technology environment and contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations. The Technical Operations Assistant is expected to help the team with the day-to-day operations while working under the full supervision of the more senior colleague (mentor).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal teams on new requirements and features for development and communicate across all teams for cross-functional dependencies.
  • Testing new tools, systems, and APIs before release to the business and to clients, for example, logic, integration to third-party providers, rule-based systems, alerts, and improvements.
  • Record system accesses to external systems for security and data control.
  • Set up client accesses to Moorwand test and live systems.
  • Incident management and business and client system notifications, outages, and report in line with SLAs.
  • Participate in client calls to perform system demos, answer setup and integration questions, and resolve any ongoing problems including API queries.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams and external clients, resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the implementation of new systems and technologies, ensuring they meet operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and support business objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in technical operations.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills with fluent written and spoken English
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a technical support or operations role is preferred but not required.
  • Understanding or experience in banking or the payments industry will be an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other productivity tools.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
