2023–Present Freelance Software Developer, Berlin, DE

• Developed a bookmarking browser extension in vanilla JS with a focus on low First Input Delay (FID), rendering 4k+ items in under 700ms.
• Utilized IndexedDB for storage and implemented a full-text search feature.
• Built a companion Node.js app with a REST API, secured using two-way SSL for mutual authentication.
• Developed a partner Android application (Java) for on-the-go bookmark management.
• Built a Firefox browser extension to detect and control media playing in other tabs, replicating and enhancing Chrome's native functionality.

Projects

2024 Resilient Remote Job Monitor, Side Project

• Developed a tool to automate the selection and management of cloud instances on the Vast.ai platform.
• Extensively utilized the Vast.ai REST API to programmatically search and filter machine templates and hosting offers based on user-defined criteria.
• The system uses a PHP worker to create instances, initiate jobs via SSH, and monitor their progress by streaming log files in real-time.
• Implemented a resilient monitoring mechanism to handle network drops, and used Server-Sent Events (SSE) to push real-time status updates to the client.

2025 Context-Aware Accessibility Translator, Side Project

• Developed an Android application in Java that leverages the Accessibility Service API to read and process on-screen UI nodes in real time.
• Integrated Google ML Kit’s on-device translation to provide instant translations of extracted text into a user-selected target language.
• Implemented a custom state machine with diffing and debouncing to minimize redundant processing and improve performance.
• Added per-app configuration, allowing users to select which applications the service is active in, as well as the desired target translation language.
