Resident Engineer

About the role:
On behalf of our partner – Inther Group – we are looking for a Service Resident Engineer to join on-site projects in the Netherlands and Belgium. This role involves extended on-site assignments, where you will be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on automated systems and equipment. You will carry out inspections, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and assist the client’s technical team when needed. The position offers responsibility and the opportunity to work closely with a skilled service team on complex industrial systems.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and provide technical support for mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Inspect and monitor the technical condition and performance of automation systems.
• Identify, report, and resolve hardware or software issues.
• Support urgent interventions for technical breakdowns.
• Manage spare parts inventory and order replacements as needed.
• Suggest and implement improvements based on maintenance insights.
• Achieve KPIs and continuously optimize system performance.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the industrial mechanical or electrical field.
• Education in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Systems Engineering.
• Hands-on, proactive, problem-solving mindset.
• Knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens S7/TIA) is a plus.
• Basic experience with mechanical and electronic components.
• Good English skills (French is a plus).
• Romanian passport.
• Possession of a driving license.
