Skill Requirements:
Languages: Good knowledge in written and spoken English, other languages would be an additional asset but are not requirements for the job.
Specific Skills: Write, modify, integrate and test software code, maintain existing computer programs by making modifications as required, identify and communicate technical problems, processes and solutions, prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software, assist in the collection and documentation of user's requirements, assist in the development of logical and physical specifications, research and evaluate a variety of software products, write, modify, integrate and test software code for e-commerce and other internet applications
Programming Languages: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, mySQL, XML. Experience with other programming languages such as C/C++, AJAX, PEAR, C#, ASP, ASP.NET, FLASH, Python, PERL, RUBY, MSSQL, ORACLE, etc... will be considered an additional asset but are not requirements for the job.
Computer and Technology Knowledge:
- Expert ability to create search-optimized, table-less CSS sites that adhere to style, documentation and change control standards;
- Contribute to the design of web interfaces using techniques based on design theory and concepts related to creating visual flow and compelling customer experiences;
- Design web graphics with an expert knowledge of Abobe CS2 (Photoshop, ImageReady, and Illustrator) and web development tools such as Flash, Dreamweaver;
- On occasion work with other designers to explain design concepts and manage design feedback;
- Content management Joomla/Mambo, Typo3, Plone, Drupal, Exponent, etc.;
- Test websites and ensure browser compatibility;
- Assist with user-interface design for front and back-end systems.
Essential Skills: Reading text, document use, writing, oral communication, working in team with others, problem solving, ICT decision making, critical thinking, finding information, computer use, continuous learning.
