Translator

A local company invites applications for the Translator positions to perform challenging TECHNICAL and related-fields written translations, from English to Romanian.

Job Title: TRANSLATOR

Nature of the Job and main tasks:
Perform accurate translation from English to Romanian of technical instructions and norms in the established timeframe as to ensure the required quality standards.

Education/Experience Required:
• Degree in technical subjects (or students in their final year).
• Experience in working with written translations from English intro Romanian (minimum 1 year).

Knowledge/Skills Required:
• Proficiency in English and Romanian.
• Broad and comprehensive knowledge of technical terminology.
• Good knowledge of the rules of the Romanian linguistic system (lexis, phraseology, syntax, spelling, punctuation, grammar).
• Ability to work under pressure with short deadlines.
• Computer literacy: Internet Explorer, MS Word Proficiency, Instant Messenger.
• Fast typing skills.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Strongly committed to the established requirements and deadlines.

Specific requirements:
• Job location – home or any other agreed place.
• Necessary equipment – computer, permanent Internet access (preferably via ADSL).
• Capacity to translate minimum 5 pages per day.

Time Frame:
July 2007 – December 2008 – part time, with possible extension until April 2009.
Remuneration:
Competitive rates per output pages.
