A local company invites applications for the Translator positions to perform challenging TECHNICAL and related-fields written translations, from English to Romanian.

Job Title: TRANSLATOR

Nature of the Job and main tasks:
Perform accurate translation from English to Romanian of technical instructions and norms in the established timeframe as to ensure the required quality standards.

Education/Experience Required:
Degree in technical subjects (or students in their final year).
Experience in working with written translations from English intro Romanian (minimum 1 year).

Knowledge/Skills Required:
Proficiency in English and Romanian.
Broad and comprehensive knowledge of technical terminology.
Good knowledge of the rules of the Romanian linguistic system (lexis, phraseology, syntax, spelling, punctuation, grammar).
Ability to work under pressure with short deadlines.
Computer literacy: Internet Explorer, MS Word Proficiency, Instant Messenger.
Fast typing skills.
Ability to work in a team.
Strongly committed to the established requirements and deadlines.

Specific requirements:
Job location – home or any other agreed place.
Necessary equipment – computer, permanent Internet access (preferably via ADSL).
Capacity to translate minimum 5 pages per day.

Time Frame:
July 2007 – December 2008 – part time, with possible extension until April 2009.

Remuneration:
Competitive rates per output pages.
