We are looking for:
Translator – Interpreter
(English-Romanian-Russian)
Role:
Converting written material from one or more 'source languages' into the 'target language', ensuring that the translated version conveys the meaning of the original as clearly as possible.
Key responsibilities:
Working on technical, commercial, literary and legal documents.
- Translating marketing and commercial documents as required – presentations, corporate announcements, signage, promotional plans and materials, web copy, newsletters, internal memos, etc.;
- Translating legal documents and forms as required – contracts, status, rules and procedures, protocols, decisions, etc.;
- Researching legal, technical and scientific phraseology to find the correct translation. Terminology research. Source and research appropriate terminology when necessary;
- Translates and composes correspondence;
- Proofreading and editing final translated versions and providing Employer with a grammatically correct, well-expressed final version of the translated text;
- Coordinates and proofreads external translations when necessary;
- Communicating with different departments to confirm details on the content of documentation;
- Advising staff on language issues, including style, usage, specific terminology, and formatting where necessary;
- Building a glossary of terms in order to keep consistency with external translators.
- Prioritizing work to meet deadlines;
- May assist with sensitive and confidential communications;
- Interpreting simultaneously and consecutively during the:
large conferences and formal meetings;
business functions such as smaller meetings, exhibitions and product launches
- Assists other staff with interpretation and translation in daily public contact.
- Filling out other related tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- University degree in Translation
- 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience translating Romanian & Russian to English and English to Romanian& Russian text
- Superior communication skills in both Romanian and English
- Proficiency in the application and usage of English, Romanian and Russian spelling and grammar
- Good general knowledge
- Attention to details, accuracy and consistency is essential
- Ability to work autonomously as well as comfortable in team-based environment.
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Must be able to maintain all confidentiality requirements for documents under translation.
- Strong Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) with knowledge of Translation software an asset
