POSITION SUMMARY
The Junior Java Software Engineer is an integral part of our engineering team, helping to the development of our innovative software products. The successful candidate will focus on learning the existing systems, and will participate to extend it as the business grows. The successful candidate must have knowledge and some experience working with server-side web application software for functionality across multiple browser platforms. Good knowledge of JavaScript and HTML is a plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze, implement and test B2B information systems, Oracle and SQL-based RDBMS, and multi-tier distributed applications utilizing J2EE, Java, JavaScript, JSF, JSP, XML, and HTML
Maintain and support current system and ongoing beta programs
Participate in implementation of next generation systems based on our technology
Provide hands-on development and maintenance of software applications/modules
Implement best practices for software code development, re-use, and componentization
Contribute to the growth and evolution of the company
REQUIRED SKILL SET
BA/BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required;
1-2 years experience developing commercial software in a structured setting.
Commercial hands-on Java software development; preferably through several complete development cycles from specifications to software delivery.
Knowledge of Java-related technologies (Servlets, JSP, JDBC).
Experience in Object Modeling with UML
DHTML / XHTML / XSLT / CSS knowledge
Must be able to adapt to changing needs of the business
Experience with GWT is a plus.
Experience with Hibernate is a plus.
Experience with MS SQL Server, Oracle or DB/2 is a plus
Must have an understanding of the software development life cycle, GOF patterns, familiarity or experience with Agile Development practices is a plus.
