Background:


Lumos is a registered charity working to transform the lives of disadvantaged children by facilitating the end of institutional care. We work to tackle poverty and disadvantage, to promote educational inclusion, child health and development, and to prevent child abuse and neglect in any part of the world.

With the involvement of skilled professionals, we raise awareness of the plight of children to those who can help and promote best practice. Our target audience includes international policy makers, central governments, local authorities, non-governmental organisations, local communities and the general public.

Job Purpose:
The Regional Information Coordinator will assist in fundraising for Lumos by working closely with the fundraising team in the UK, as well as with Lumos’ programmes teams in Eastern European countries to provide project information for donor applications and reporting. This post is offered on a fixed term contract until December 2014. The successful candidate will need to complete a 20 week trial period.

Role Summary:
Working closely with the fundraising team in the UK, this role will support the collection of project information in order to provide content for fundraising and marketing materials including:

Providing information for project plans and narratives, which will be used as a source for funding applications
Assisting programmes teams by assisting in compiling project reports
Support fundraising team by drafting fundraising applications
Providing information for reports, which will be sent to existing donors
Person Specification:
Essential
Fluent in spoken and written English, Russian and Romanian
Strong written communication skills
Strong research skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work successfully in a team
Prior success working closely and building relationships with diverse groups of people
Good knowledge and experience of project development and methods for collection of information
Strong computer skills
Excellent analytical skills
Willingness to travel within Moldova and more widely in Europe
Desirable
Understanding of grant and trust fundraising, in particular experience of drafting fundraising applications and budgets
Experience of working internationally and/or in the field of deinstitutionalisation
