Php/mysql consultant

The PHP/MySQL Consultant will be contracted part-time (20 hours/week) to work with Novateca for a period of at least three months in 2013. The PHP/MySQL Consultant will be supervised by the IT Manager and will work closely with the IT department and the Impact Specialist on the further development of a reporting database (an online reporting tool for librarians). The Novateca PHP/MySQL Consultant will further develop the application designed to create and process monthly reports of librarians.

Description of Responsibilities:

Improve the design of the Online Reporting Tool’s user interface, ensuring ease of use and appropriate design for librarians, partners, and Novateca staff
Develop and add functionality to the Online Reporting Tool, based on the needs expressed by Novateca
Elaborate the report and export functionalities for the Online Reporting Tool
Develop further database capacities to support data and impact reporting
Create an interface for the public to download and interact with public data and reports
Other detailed responsibilities to be determined
Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of OOP & design patterns, PНP4 / PНP5, MySQL, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX , HTML, XML,CSS
Fluency (written and oral) in Romanian, Russian and English preferred, but not mandatory
Portfolio and previous experience will be considered as an advantage
Ability to work with third-party developed code
