Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and skilled **Junior System Administrator** to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting and maintaining our IT infrastructure, focusing on Linux systems, network management, and server administration tailored to the needs of a VFX and animation studio. This role offers the flexibility of hybrid or remote work, with occasional on-site visits to Santa Cruz de Tenerife as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Linux Systems Administration
- Manage and maintain Linux servers and workstations.
- Perform regular updates, patches, and security enhancements.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
Network Management
- Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Ensure secure and reliable network connectivity for local and remote users.
- Implement VPN and remote access solutions.
Server Administration
- Oversee server setups, including file servers, web servers, and database servers.
- Manage storage solutions and backups to ensure data integrity.
- Monitor server health and optimize performance.
Support for VFX/Animation Studio Tools
- Provide support for software applications like Maya, Nuke, and other industry-specific tools.
- Assist in managing render farms, ensuring 24/7 operation.
- Debug software issues and collaborate with the development team for solutions.
Security Management
- Implement and manage security tools and protocols.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Ensure compliance with industry security standards like ISO 27001 and TPN.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects.
- Communicate effectively to resolve technical issues promptly.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Must be a citizen of an EU country or have legal residency and work rights in Spain.
- **Education**: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- **Experience**: 1-3 years in system administration or IT support roles.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, CentOS).
- Experience with network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Docker).
- Knowledge of scripting languages like Bash or Python.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Proactive attitude with the initiative to self-educate.
Additional Qualifications (Nice to Have)
