Role Description
ITcare is seeking Junior Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineers to be based in Chisinau, with some flexibility to work remotely. The Junior NOC Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day management, troubleshooting, and technical support of network systems, along with network security and administration tasks. The role requires collaboration with other team members to ensure customer satisfaction for the managed services provided.
Who we’re looking for
We welcome recent graduates and engineers with up to ~1 year of experience who are eager to learn, experiment and grow in the networking field. If you love solving puzzles, have the basics of IP networking down, and want to be mentored by senior engineers, this role is for you.
Responsibilities

Monitor routers, switches, servers and security systems using industry‑standard tools (Zabbix, Grafana, etc.).
Triage alarms: identify what’s urgent, gather initial facts, and create clear trouble tickets.
Perform first‑line fixes (interface resets, basic config checks) and escalate complex issues to L2/L3 engineers.
Keep runbooks, diagrams and tickets up to date so the whole team stays in sync.
Join senior staff on small projects—new monitoring checks, simple automation scripts, documentation clean‑ups.
Rotate through 8‑hour shifts to ensure our customers have round‑the‑clock coverage.

Qualifications

Basic understanding of the OSI model, Ethernet & IP, subnets, VLANs, ARP, OSPF/BGP fundamentals.
Familiarity with Linux CLI and common networking commands (ping, traceroute, SSH).
Exposure to any network gear (Cisco, Juniper, MikroTik, etc.) in labs, university projects or internships.
Comfortable reading technical English (min. A2/B1) and writing concise ticket notes.
Curiosity, reliability, and the willingness to ask questions and keep improving every day.
Bonus points
Coursework or labs involving VRRP, OSPF, BGP or MPLS.
Side projects with containers (Docker/LXD/LXC) or home‑lab automation (Ansible, Python).
Entry‑level certifications: CCNA, JNCIA, MikroTik MTCNA, etc.
