Database Architect (permanent)

The Database Architect possesses extensive experience in database design, data modeling, and data architect for high volume, real-time transactional databases in an online 24x7 production environment for trading systems. The database architect will provide the technical leadership required to effectively deliver high-quality, timely solutions and services that meet company needs and objectives in terms of reliability and scalability. The DB Architect’s primary focus is to research, evaluate, plan, design, and document all aspects of relational online databases with critical uptime requirements. The architect will lead a team of 2 or 3 database technologists and report to the technology head of the organization.

• Minimum 10 years of combined technical experience in an Oracle 8i/9i/10g/11g environment or Mysql environment
• 8+ years of experience with database design, architecture, data modeling, performance and tuning very high performance databases.
• Minimum 3 years of technical experience in a MySQL environment
• Hands-on experience with installation, configuration and upgrading of MySQL 5.x.x and Oracle 9i, 10G RAC.
• In depth experience with High Availability Database Configurations – Clustering, Replication, Mirroring and Log management.
• Ability to Review, maintain, build, support, tune and monitor production MySQL database
• Ability to develop suites for real-time production database monitoring and high availability
• Extensive design and implementation experience of various MySQL and Oracle backup/recovery strategies

SharePoint Developer (contract and permanent)
Responsible for the development, deployment and support of custom SharePoint solutions, as well as the configuration, deployment and support of standard SharePoint sites.
• This position requires a highly motivated self-starter with experience developing, implementing and supporting SharePoint and other web solutions.
• Extend SharePoint solutions by creating and deploying custom components and InfoPath forms
• Develop C# components and deploy them as SharePoint web parts
• Perform comprehensive unit testing of custom components prior to formal QA
• Produce system documentation for processes, components and solutions
• Responsible for assigned system development work, occasional project management responsibilities, system support, and the mentoring of less experienced team members.
• Provide mentoring and technical guidance to less experienced members of the SharePoint and Enterprise Content Management Team

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver SharePoint solutions to meet firm business needs
• Develop new web components using C#, .NET, SQL, and XML
