FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

An international media group with strong presence in the Central and Eastern Europe is searching for a financial controller for the Moldavian subsidiary.

Main responsibilities and activities:
- Prepares the US GAAP reports according to group policies, including: monthly Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow; Notes to Financial Statements on a quarterly basis; adjustments and reconciliation of Local GAAP to US GAAP; monthly files with supporting documentation for US GAAP reports
- Provides information, assistance and advice on all the matters regarding the work area, provides timely explanations to any queries from the Group representatives
- Supports internal and external auditors during the auditing procedures, ensures compliance with the established procedures
- Suggests improvements to work flows and work process in order to maximize the sector's effectiveness and efficiency
- Consolidates the budget information during the budget process, assesses the reasonability of the information received and provides feedback to departments and local stations
- Prepares weekly and monthly reports, analyses and forecasts different financial projects according to established criteria
- In the process of preparation of various reports manages the process of collecting data from departments, verifies the accuracy and internal consistency of data received, manages data to provide current status, forecasts or explanations of actual expenses and incomes compared with estimated budgets, identifies and solves any exceptions to the process or problems that occur
- Prepares any ad-hoc financial analysis request made by the local and central management
- Participates in the design and implementation of internal controls and elaborates the appropriate documentation
- Participates in training and coaching of personnel in respect of the system of internal controls implemented within the company

Qualifications required:
- University degree in an appropriate field (accounting, finance, business administration)
- 3-5 years experience in Finance
- Experience in international environment or a Big4 company is a plus
- Good knowledge of US GAAP system
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Romanian
- Good knowledge of PC operation including word processor, spreadsheets and databases utilization
- Hyperion knowledge is a plus
