Finance/Grants Associate

The International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX) seeks Moldovan candidates to fill the positions of Finance/Grants Associate (F/GA). Sponsored by the US Government through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Citizen Participation Program (CPP) is a five-year program to assist citizens in using democratic process and individual initiative to improve living and social conditions in local communities throughout Moldova.
The Finance/Grants Associate will assist with financial management of small grants (e.g. accounting, budget and reporting), provide assistance and advice to the Grantees and HUB Facilitation Teams and the clerical support to the Program. The F/GA will oversee operations for the Regional Hub Teams ensuring that Community Initiative Groups (CIGs) and Hub Facilitation Teams follow CPP procedures. The Grants Associate also works closely with the Finance and Administrative Officer in Chisinau.

Candidates must have a degree in accounting or related field; three years of related work experience, knowledge of Moldovan fiscal regulations; an understanding of democratic principles and processes; written and spoken English communication skills; and the ability to Multi-task. Candidates must also have attention to detail, ability to follow procedures and meet deadlines, as well as being able to work independently and cooperatively with team members. Professionalism and motivation expected. Good computer skills with strong familiarity of Microsoft Word and Excel.
