External Consultant / KAB Study: data analysis, summary and recommenda

The Consultant will work under the direct supervision of the UNAIDS Moldova Country Coordinator and general supervision of the UN Joint Team on HIV/AIDS.
OBJECTIVES OF THE CONSULTANCY
1. To develop a questionnaire to be used in analyses of staff knowledge, attitudes and behaviours in relation to sexual behaviours and reproductive health.
2. To asses level of knowledge on core competences of the Professional Staff
3. To conduct in-depth analysis of key results of the KAB Study on UN staff and their family members
4. To prepare a summary of the KAB study (of 10-20 pages) and 30 minutes PowerPoint presentation.
5. To develop recommendations for further programme development in the area of sexual behaviours and reproductive health
The main purpose of the Study is:
1. To assess the level of knowledge, attitudes and behaviours of UN staff and their family members concerning the sexual behaviours and the use of male and female condoms in preventing HIV and STIs.
2. To asses level of knowledge on core competences of the Professional Staff
3. To develop an Action Plan to improve the UN staff and their family members knowledge, attitudes and behaviours on condom use and condom negotiation skills.
SPECIFIC TASKS
1. Revision of the methodology, tools, and results KAB Study on UN staff and their family members referring to sexual behaviours and reproductive health .
2. KAB Study on UN staff and their family members methodology, questionnaires, database, and data analysis and interpretation of key results of the KAP study will be provided to the consultant by UNAIDS office.
The consultant will work to produce a draft of the report which will be further discussed at the UNJT meeting on HIV/AIDS.
In-depth analysis of key findings related to sexual behaviours
3. Formulation of recommendations for improving UN staff and their family members knowledge referring sexual behaviours and reproductive health .
4. Preparation of the KAB Study Report (20-30 pages). Suggested outline of the report – background, purpose and objectives, methodology (quantitative & qualitative) with comments on data quality, key findings & conclusions, recommendations.
Summary report will cover priority areas included into the Study.
QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Analytical and report writing skills
Experience in research with regard to knowledge, attitudes and practices including HIV/AIDS, STIs ;
Experience in participatory research techniques
Familiarity with HIV/AIDS, STIs related issues in Moldova
Knowledge of UN mandate and organizational priorities
