Driver / Messenger



Driver / Messenger for a full-time position starting September 2013. This position is located in our Chisinau office.



Basic function of position:
Driver / Messenger serves as driver for the Peace Corps motor pool, driving official vehicles for the officers, other employees, and official visitors. Performs messenger and delivery work, including the pick-up and delivery of parcels or other duties as required by the Director of Management Operations or GSM.



Qualification required for this position:



Completion of secondary school is required.
A valid driver’s license with categories B and D is required. Must have good driving skills in winter and summer conditions.
Minimum 2 years of chauffeur experience is required.
Limited knowledge of Speaking / Reading English is required. Good working knowledge of Speaking / Reading Romanian and Russian is required.
Knowledge of basic automotive mechanics is required (to be able to note and describe irregularities to mechanic, and address emergency situation).
Knowledge of local and international routes required. Knowledge of locations of businesses, school, government offices, etc., in Chisinau and in other parts of the country required.
Ability to work well in a team atmosphere and communicate effectively with others.
Ability to work long hours away from Chisinau and respond to emergencies at late hours in the evening or early mornings.
Important to obey all traffic laws and not abuse the diplomatic privileges extended to Peace Corps by the Moldovan Government when issuing CD licenses.
