Driver (Giurgiulesti sub office)

UNDP Moldova is seeking to employ a professional Driver within the European Union – funded project European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM). Under the direct supervision of the Head of Basarabeasca Field Office, the Driver is responsible for the following:

Summary of key functions:
• Ensure proper maintenance and serving of the assigning vehicle is taken place on day-to-day and report to the Head of Basarabeasca Field Office on time
• Regularly checks oil, water, battery charge, brakes, tires, etc. in order to keep the vehicle operational at all times
• Drive office vehicle for transportation of authorized personnel and delivery/collection of cargo, pouch and other items
• Make field trips in/or out-side the country
• Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, perform minor repairs and arrange for other related repairs
• Make distribution of the Mission correspondence/material appropriate persons, mails and Mission documents

Qualifications and skills required:
• Secondary or high school education
• Valid driver's license of category B
• Excellent knowledge of applicable Traffic Rules of Moldova
• Skills in minor and emergency vehicle repair
• Minimum 4 years of work experience as a driver (recommendations required); Safe driving record
• Experience of work for UN or other international organizations is an asset
• Basic knowledge of office software (MS Word/Excel/Outlook/Internet Explorer) is an asset
• Knowledge of spoken English is a mandatory requirement.
