Location Switzerland
Compensation: $3500 per month plus substantial “Per Diem” plus all relocation expenses

Short Position Description
We are looking for a mixture of host development (MFC/Visual Studio/CodeWarrior, XML, scripting) plus embedded microcontroller/CPU knowledge (interrupts, flash, ram, rom, triggers, breakpoints, etc). Candidates should also have attitude/motivation/willingness to own and work in a holistic development cycle/environment, with a deep sense for technology.

Detailed Position Description
Creating cutting edge debugging software and tools; from pre-platform to platform and finally up to the post-platform stage.
As software engineer you cover all software/tools aspects from the idea, design, implementation, test, documentation, deployment and maintenance. Your responsibilities are to create/review design documents, implement/extend functionality in C/C++, maintain and improve an existing source base, investigate and fix reported problems, create test cases and verify your work, dealing with an automated build system and interacting with other functional teams like IDE, compiler, documentation or silicon design teams. You work in an international and connected worldwide team, with a pool of knowledge and expertise where you can bring in yourself. You are used to work with a variety of different software tools and systems. You are always keen to explore new areas and technologies and apply them to the real world. You are very familiar with a Windows/XP work environment and host. You can integrate and work in sub-teams of 3-4 debugger engineers targeting a debugger/simulator for HC08, HC12, Coldfire or other architectures. You are used to work in quality oriented (ISO/CMM) environment. Work areas include flash programming, board initialization, RTOS awareness, visualization, full chip simulation, host-target connectivity (GDI and/or CCS), implementation and exposure of advanced on-chip debugging capabilities (triggers, watchpoints, breakpoints, trace) as well working with silicon design teams providing feedback/suggestions.
Specific Knowledge/Skills
General
- University degree, preferable in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering or Electronics, preferred ETH degree
- 2-3 years hands-on experience with C/C++; Object Oriented Programming, COM (Component Object Model)/OO Programming, Assembly an advantage
- 2-3 years expertise in design of complex software tools, advantage of knowledge of embedded tools
- Operating systems fundamentals, multiprocessing / multithreaded applications
- Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
- Knowledge and experience with multicore (homogeneous, heterogeneous) architectures.
- English (speaking/writing), French, German, Romanian is an advantage
Environment
- Knowledge of Freescale processors (PowerPC, ColdFire, HC08, HC12, etc, as well on assembly level)
- Knowledge of modern UI design and modern IDEs (Visual Studio, Eclipse, CodeWarrior)
- Cross-platform (Windows/Unix) development experience
