Automation QA Engineer

About the Role: We’re building a modern ticketing system and are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Automation QA Engineer to help ensure it’s reliable, stable, and ready for real-world use. You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining test automation, validating new features, and catching issues early as we continue to develop the product.
Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain automated tests for API, E2E, and regression testing
Set up and manage test environments using Docker containers and relevant tooling
Collaborate with developers and QA peers to identify edge cases, write test plans, and reproduce bugs
Contribute to QA strategy, ensuring test coverage aligns with the software architecture and business goals

Requirements:

Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js environment), with a strong grasp of asynchronous programming and Promises
Experience writing SQL queries for data setup, validation, and debugging in relational databases
Solid understanding of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and experience with API testing tools
Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable test automation code
Hands-on experience with Docker
Familiarity with Git and standard version control workflows
Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking for diagnosing issues and verifying functionality
Good communication and collaboration skills; experience working in agile teams

Bonus Skills:

Experience with Playwright for automation testing
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL
Performance Testing
Familiarity with CI/CD tools
Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools
