QA Automation Engineer (GameDev)

What You’ll Be Doing

• Developing and maintaining automated tests for game clients (PC, consoles, mobile platforms) and backend services.
• Supporting the test framework. Python + Pytest or C# + Unity Test Framework / GameDriver; BDD (Gherkin) for high-level scenarios.
• CI/CD integration — GitHub Actions + Docker; artifact caching, parallel runs, Allure / ReportPortal reporting.
• Release Gate checks — Smoke/Regression/Performance and platform compliance (Meta Quest VRC / Oculus, Android, iOS).
• Observability & Flaky tests — Logging (ELK / Loki), metrics (Grafana, Prometheus), auto-retries and quarantines.
• Load testing scenarios — k6 / Locust for API and Photon / FishNet load testing for multiplayer.
• Build validation — GPU frame snapshots (RenderDoc), memory profiles, FPS / frame-time tracking.
• Preparing test data — Stub/Mock servers, save-file generation, DB migration scripts.

We Expect

• 2+ years of production-level test automation (preferably in games, XR projects, or high-load online services).
• Strong knowledge of Python or C#; solid understanding of OOP, Page/Object Model patterns, and SOLID principles.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright (Web), Appium (Mobile), Unity Test Framework / GameDriver, or similar tools.
• Experience writing tests for REST / GraphQL / WebSocket; Postman / Swagger.
• Familiarity with Git-flow, Docker, and basic bash scripting.
• CI/CD setup experience (GitHub Actions / GitLab CI / Jenkins + Docker executors).
• Good understanding of networking protocols (UDP/TCP, lag simulation) and client-server architecture.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Sentry, Crashlytics, GameAnalytics, Prometheus/Grafana alerting.
• Experience preparing builds for Steam Deck / Meta Quest / Nintendo Lotcheck.
• Test infrastructure setup in AWS Device Farm / Azure PlayFab.
• SQL (ClickHouse / BigQuery), NoSQL (Firebase RTDB, CosmosDB).
• TypeScript scripts for web admin panels or in-game tools.
• ISTQB Advanced Test Automation Engineer or similar certifications.
