Texture Artist, 12 000 - 25 000 mdl
About company
ARTDOCK is looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Texture Artist to join our team on 3D game projects. You will be responsible for creating both realistic and stylized textures compatible with game engines, and for preparing high-quality PBR materials that match the visual style of our projects.
What You’ll Do:
- Create high-quality PBR and stylized textures for characters, environments, and props;
- Work with tileable materials, atlases, masks, and layered setups;
- Bake maps from high-poly to low-poly models (normal, AO, etc.);
- Set up and verify materials in Unity (URP), using Shader Graph when required;
- Optimize textures for performance (formats, resolutions, channel packing);
- Coordinate with modelers on UV layout and texel density;
- Maintain clean file structures and consistent naming conventions
What We’re Looking For:
- 1–2 years of experience or strong portfolio with both PBR and stylized texturing:
- Proficiency in Substance Painter (Designer is a plus), Photoshop, 3DCoat, and Blender;
- Solid understanding of real-time workflows and texture baking;
- Experience with texture atlases, hand-painted detailing, and stylized pipelines;
- Basic material setup in Unity and understanding of Shader Graph;
- Awareness of optimization best practices for real-time rendering.
- A strong, relevant portfolio demonstrating your skills.
Tech Stack:
- Substance Painter / Designer;
- Photoshop;
- 3DCoat;
- Unity (URP);
- Blender (basic level for baking and UV checks).
Nice to Have:
- Experience with hand-painted workflows;
- Understanding of texture creation for VFX (flipbooks, masks, noise);
- Familiarity with channel packing and shader-friendly texture setups;
- Experience with layered or dynamic material systems (e.g., decals, wear/dirt blending).
