We are looking for:
Cobol developer (French speaker)
Context:
The Cobol Software Developer will assist with the development and maintenance of ongoing projects.
Responsibilities
- Besides development, contribute to the technical analysis: understand detailed functional specifications and participate in translating them into technical specifications.
- Estimate the workload required for development and unit testing.
- Familiarize with and adhere to the operating rules of the development environment.
- Code/setup and document produced work while ensuring compliance with standards and procedures (architecture, security, quality, documentation).
- Define unit test cases for product components and ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Conduct performance tests (BDDs) and related IT testing (e.g., non-regression, unit tests).
- Contribute to 3rd level support, including incident resolution monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Maintain and adapt code in response to technical evolutions and requests/projects (technical specifications, performance, security).
- Provide and implement improvement solutions according to development standards and architectural rules.
- Explore and discuss innovative solutions for cost and simplification benefits.
- Manage interventions in project mode (agile or v-cycle) or maintenance mode, depending on importance.
- Involve in the project life cycle and development after requirements.
- Maintain a good relationship with technical operations teams.
- Ensure proper documentation of all developed and released solutions in production.
- 3+ years of experience as a developer.
- Technical knowledge in mainframe (MVS, TSO, JCL) and Cobol programming.
- Experience with technologies such as CICS, DB2, CTRL-M.
- Understanding of IT architecture with at least 2 years of experience on different projects.
- Previous experience in the finance/accounting field as a developer is a plus.
- Proactive, creative, and innovative with strong analytical skills.
- An academic background and/or Master's in Cybernetics, Accounting, Banking, or Finance is desirable.
- French language knowledge at least at B1 level with a willingness to improve.
