Web administrator

The Association of Broadcasters “Reţeaua AICI”, a network of local TV Stations supported by the International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX), Media Program in Moldova (MPM), is looking for a candidate to fill the position of “Web Administrator” for its office in Chisinau.
The Association of Broadcasters “Reţeaua AICI” is a network of regional independent television stations providing citizens with a sustainable source of objective local news and information. The project raises professional skills at the stations, improves their performance as well-managed businesses, and ensures distribution of local and regional news across Moldova.
Responsibilities related to the given position (not limited to the ones presented below):
• Update and edit the information on the http://www.aicitv.md ;
• Develop and optimize AICI TV site for internal and usual users;
• Update information and images of site; correct design errors;
• Create and edit banners, promos, convert and edit video files, publish content on various web resources;
• Offer technical support to site users and personnel;
• Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems and applications;
• Monitor and maintain office computer systems and networks;
• Ensure proper functioning of mail server;
• Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnose and solve hardware/software faults;
• Set up new user accounts and profiles and deal with password issues;
• Work continuously on task completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate);
• Prioritize and manage many open cases at one time;
• Rapidly establish a good working relationship with service providers, vendors and other professionals. Prepare bids analysis for equipment if necessary;
• Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment;
• Be responsible for full uptime functioning of the office equipment;
• Keep security information inside the office network;
• Protect the network from outside attacks and control traffic;
• Back up data;
• Choose and prepare necessary equipment for events and meetings outside the office;
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements for the candidate:
• University degree in the related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Working experience in Adobe Photoshop and/or Gimp;
• Strong computer and networking skills (Windows 2000 – Windows XP, Linux/Unix based systems, knowledge of TCP\IP, DHCP, DNS, POP3\SMTP, WINS, VPN, Proxy, Network, and data security);
• Knowledge of PHP, MySQL, Joomla CMS, HTML;
• Initiative and team work abilities;
• Media background is a plus;
• Marketing and promotions background is a plus;
• On line sales background is a plus;
• Knowledge of English, Romanian and Russian (oral and written).
