Company: Flyer Club – Premium Travel Agency
Location: Remote (EST Timezone)
Type: Full-time
Compensation: Salary and bonuses discussed individually based on experience and technical expertise
About Flyer Club
Flyer Club is a premium travel concierge specializing in Business and First Class international travel.
We consistently deliver 40–70% savings by leveraging advanced, fully legitimate airfare optimization techniques and proprietary technology.
We are now expanding our internal data science and automation capabilities to push our pricing advantage even further.
The Role
We are seeking a high-level Data Scientist / Automation Engineer to build intelligent systems that discover strategic auxiliary segments — additional flight legs or routing structures that dramatically reduce the total price of a premium itinerary while remaining fully compliant with airline rules.
Your mission:
- Design, train, and operate a pipeline of scrapers, bots, and pricing models that surface hidden pricing efficiencies across airlines, GDSs, and search engines.
- This role sits at the intersection of travel tech, data engineering, and algorithmic search optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop scalable, resilient Python scrapers for OTAs, airline sites, meta-engines, and ITA Matrix
- Build fare-optimization algorithms and anomaly-detection models that evaluate millions of routing combinations
- Identify opportunities created by married-segment behavior, advanced fare rules, strategic auxiliary segments, multi-city constructions, and other pricing patterns
- Reverse-engineer fare logic across Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport, and airline-specific quirks
- Build datasets from ITA Matrix, ExpertFlyer, fare rule repositories, and internal search data
- Ensure scrapers survive anti-bot systems, proxy rotations, CAPTCHAs, and headless browser detection
- Work closely with senior travel consultants to validate findings and operationalize winning itineraries
- Continuously refine speed, accuracy, and coverage of your detection systems
Required Skills & Experience
- Expert-level Python — ability to write clean, optimized, production-grade code
- Proven experience building large-scale, long-running web scrapers (Playwright, Selenium, Puppeteer, Scrapy, etc.)
- Strong understanding of proxy rotation, CAPTCHA handling, browser fingerprint spoofing, and resilience against anti-bot protections
- Solid background in data modeling, algorithm design, statistical analysis, and anomaly detection
- Experience designing systems that evaluate and rank large, multi-dimensional datasets
- Ability to work with complex JSON/XML outputs, APIs, and structured/unstructured data
- Strong debugging skills and a mindset focused on repeatability, automation, and performance
- Comfortable working independently, documenting code, and delivering production-ready pipelines
- Fluent English; strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
Bonus Points
- Knowledge of fare construction rules (minimum stays, fare families, married segments, multi-segment pricing, etc.)
- Experience with ITA Matrix advanced routing codes, ExpertFlyer, airline/GDS tools, or travel-tech systems
- Familiarity with airline pricing behaviors, hidden-city logic, married-segment quirks, and other industry-specific optimizations
- Background in travel tech, revenue management, or airfare analytics
- Hands-on experience with Sabre/Amadeus/Travelport, NDC, or airline search APIs
- Experience with AWS/GCP, Docker, CI/CD pipelines
- Published research or open-source projects involving scraping, optimization algorithms, or travel data intelligence
Compensation
- We will discuss salary based on your skills, portfolio, and ability to deliver results.
Performance-based bonuses available.
