Position Summary
This position is an integral part of engineering team, and requires a passionate "code librarian", driving high code quality, as well as solving real world problems.
The successful candidate must have excellent problem solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills, as well as advanced design and development skills. This individual must have experience with multi-tier application design and development of server-side web application software for functionality across multiple browser platforms. The ideal candidate will have extremely strong technical skills, a solid focus on customer-facing requirements, experience with open source software development environments and agile methodologies, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
# Working closely with the client, identify, analyze and drive customer issues to closure.
# Troubleshoot, debug and provide workaround / fixes to client issues.
# Provide hands-on development and maintenance of the software applications/modules
# Working in a cross-functional team, ensure fixes are well documented and tested.
# Implement best practices for software code development.
Required Skill Set & Experience
# BS in Computer Science or related field required
# 5-7 years experience developing commercial software in a structured setting
# 3+ years in commercial hands-on Java software development; preferably through several complete development cycles from specifications to software delivery
# 2+ years of experience in Hibernate or equivalent ORM framework
# Strong Knowledge of J2EE Application Servers (Tomcat/ JBoss/ Weblogic/ WebSphere) and Java-related technologies (Servlets, JSP, JDBC, XML)
# 2+ years of experience working with HTML / XHTML / XSLT / CSS
# Experience with MS SQL Server, Oracle or DB/2 a plus
# Must be a disciplined adherent of proper software development procedures and documentation
# Must be able to work well in a diverse small team environment including managing offshore development
# Must have a thorough understanding of the software development life cycle, familiarity or experience with Agile Development practices
# Must be able to adapt to changing needs of the business
