Sr. Java developer / architect

We are seeking an energetic software developer to compliment our growing development staff, someone who can come on board and contribute immediately to our swiftly growing enterprise-level gifting and loyalty solutions. Be a part of our full software life-cycle web stack using exciting new technologies and resources. The company powers e-Gift cards, mobile apps & loyalty programs with custom technology engines.
Key Responsibilities/Main Activities:
• Work with our engineering team to help expand our e-gift card and loyalty platform.
Requirements,basic qualifications include:
Six (6) or more years of commercial software development, proficient in developing multi-tier solutions.
Minimum 4 years of professional Java and/or Perl development experience.
Strong SQL skills with considerable experience in at least one of: Oracle or SQL Server.
Experience with installing, configuring, and tuning Tomcat, Glassfish, JBoss, Weblogic or Websphere
Strong with OO design and development.
Self-starter with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and in small teams handles multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt quickly to changes.
Must demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal and written), good interpersonal skills, and ability to gather and understand requirements.
Ability to install, administer Linux packages, including from source. Extensive experience in command line Unix/Linux environments
Must have played a leading role in the design, implementation, and deployment of a successful enterprise-level system
Ensure the integrity of all application systems and support operations as needed.
Will perform design and code reviews to notify and correct any issues where possible across organizations prior to implementation.
Candidate should have experience/familiarity with:
Linux or equivalent UNIX system
Oracle 10g or later
Proficient in the following development languages: Java, PL/SQL, KSH, Perl.
Proficient in ETL tools
XML, XSLT, OO Perl, IPC, threads based Perl applications, managing shared memory, making remote connections, ETL, extensive database and data manipulation experience, regular expressions, Oracle, SMTP, SOAP, and web services.
Additional Knowledge and skills preferred:
Self-starter with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Effective verbal/written communication skills
Knowledge and experience with J2EE, JavaScript, CSS, Design Patterns a plus.
Minimum Requirements:
6+ years’ experience in software engineering
Education:
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
