Senior systems administrator

A mid-sized technology firm in US, NY has an immediate need for a Systems Administrator.

The Systems Administrator will provide Tier II Support for Microsoft Server Operating Systems and Active Directory issues, and must ensure that the Microsoft infrastructure stays up-to-date and performs at the highest level of performance possible.

Required Skills for this position include the following:

- Four to six years system administration experience.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
- Windows Administration:
Installation, Configuration and Troubleshooting of Windows (NT/9X/2k/2k3/2k8/XP/Vista/Seven), DNS, DHCP, VPN, Active Directory, TCP/IP, Permission Management, VNC, Terminal Services, VMware, IIS, Management and Administration of MS SQL Server/Database and Antivirus Server, Server/Client application management, Design-implementing and troubleshooting LAN, WAN.
- Networking:
Strong knowledge of LAN and WAN structure, protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP,
IPX/SPX), networking hardware (firewalls, routers, switches, bridges, wireless access
points, xDSL modems).
- Open Source systems (*NIX):
Installation, Management and Troubleshooting, User Administration, Monitoring, Quota management, SSH, FTP, NAT, VPN, TCP/IP, kernel configuration, Installation and Configuration of Web Server, Proxy Server, Database Server, Network File Server, Router, Firewall, SAMBA, DNS, DHCP, MAIL.

Knowlende of Virtualization, Control Panels, Programming Languages is a plus.
Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Unix and Microsoft is plus.
