Senior Quality Engineer (SiteCatalyst HBX Team)

Position Summary:
Adobe Systems Incorporated is seeking a highly technical Software Quality Engineer to join the Software Quality Assurance team. As a Software Quality Engineer, you will create and execute functional tests and develop QE automation software. You will write and maintain test plans and test cases for application functional testing and should have a solid understanding of the product development lifecycle in a Software as a Service (SaaS) environment. The position is based in our Moldova offices within the Omniture Business Unit of Adobe.

Responsibilities:
# Independently creates methods to verify and approve newly developed or modified application functionality
# Develops test plans, test cases and test execution including results analysis, root cause identification, and reporting
# Evaluates, enhances and maintains existing quality methods independently using engineering best practices
# Actively participates in developing and augmenting test automation using third-party and in-house tools
# Participates in a range of performance and load testing for mission-critical SaaS components and applications
# Independently creates and executes functional tests for browser-based and backend components
# Communicates effectively with immediate management about issues, risks, benefits and progress
# Demonstrates initiative and self-motivation as well as recognizes problems that need further investigation
# Acts as Tier 1 escalation for customer support issues requiring deeper technical investigation
# Participating in design reviews with product management and development
# Identify risks, quantify risks/benefit ratio and provide alternative solutions and risk mitigation.
# Help to implement and articulate testing strategies and test engineering technologies.
# Report status of regression testing to managers and team

Requirements:
# Proven knowledge of testing methodologies and theories, test plan and test case development, test execution practices, results analysis, root cause identification, and reporting
# Extensive experience testing and troubleshooting browser-based software applications (frontend and backend)
# Ability to work closely with developers and enable them to produce the best application possible
# Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) principles or awareness of agile practices
# Ability to work well with remote teams
# User-level knowledge of and experience in Linux/Unix systems required
# Strong understanding of how HTTP(S) work and ideally experience in analyzing HTTP traffic
# Working knowledge of a scripting language (e.g. Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby, Unix Shell Scripting)
# Solid knowledge of browser plug-ins useful for browser-based application testing
# Strong communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate complex problems and solutions in terms that others can understand both in written and in non-written form
# Able to work individually and as a team member in meeting commitments and achieving results
# Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience 5 or more years experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer on large-scale software systems, applications or computer systems or comparable experience required (ideally in a SaaS environment)
# Experience with crafting and executing basic SQL queries to assist in technical investigations is a plus
# Understanding and debugging of JavaScript is a plus
# Knowledge of network protocol stacks and network communication (TCP/IP, UDP) is a plus
# Experience testing browser-based plug-ins in a Windows environment is a plus
