One of the world’s top investment banks is opening a position of a Senior C# Developer. The successful candidate will work within a new team creating a booking service within the European Cash area of Equities IT. This team will develop a key regional system performing the difficult task of interfacing between front office and settlement systems.
1. Responsibilities
Design, develop, document, and maintain a brand new, internally developed, strategic, three-tier application, with a C# GUI based on a GUI framework infrastructure component, Java Middle Tier and Oracle database. Liaising with the UBS’s IT Architecture team for incorporation of new development into the Bank’s C# GUI Framework. Participate in code reviews and design sessions for other parts of system. Communicate with business and the rest of the team on daily basis to understand business and technical requirements to the product being developed, and translating them into a logical, well-structured, and performant application.
2. Technical Skills required
C#: 3+ years of .NET and C# development in framework 1.1 and 2.0 is required. Participation in a finished .NET project is required. Working knowledge of one of mainstream UI components suites is a big plus. Deep knowledge in web services, preferably in a heterogeneous environment.
Java: The background in Java, basic knowledge of design patterns of J2EE is a plus. Knowledge of applications servers is a plus. Keeping current on the technology landscape and having a high-level grasp of the trends in Java world is a plus.
Database: The candidate should have hands-on experience with one of the industry databases and be fluent in SQL for development purposes.
Teamwork: Understanding of base principles of team work and experience in one of mainstream development methodologies is needed. Experience in working in ISO9000/CMMi certified company is a plus but not required.
Architecture/Design: The candidate should keep up with current trends in area of enterprise technologies. The candidate should be able to effectively address non-functional requirements within given technology constraints. Working knowledge and experience on using UML to communicate architectural and design decisions is required.
Unix: Knowledge of Unix shell as an advanced user is a plus.
3. Soft Skills required
Responsibility & Maturity: The candidate should have an ability to take an ownership on the assigned area. She/he should show the commitment to the results. Finisher. She/he should have an ability to mentor and coach more junior team members.
Stress-resistance: The candidate must be able to work in a rapidly changing environment, sometimes under tight deadlines. She/he should show an ability to maintain a high level of technical solution in an unfavourable environment.
Communication: The candidate should be able to communicate her/his ideas to the team and adequately receive feedback. She/he should be able to build network of co-workers both in the team and among the business users to get better understanding on the work issues. The candidate should have an ability to deliver both positive and negative messages to the team members and business users.
Language Skills: Candidate must be able to communicate in English fluently, both on technical and conversational level. Knowledge of German language is a plus
4. Work conditions
This assignment requires a permanent move to London, UK. The candidate will be working in the Bank’s office with her/his team members who will be both Bank’s and Luxoft employees, in an exciting, fast paced working environment, and a culture of mutual respect and teamwork.
The company provides the work permit in the UK. After a year spent on-site, the candidate will have an option either to stay in London, or join an off-shore part of the development team in a senior technical or managerial role.
