redit and Collections Representative

International Company NEXT TRADE is now seeking: Credit and Collections Representative

The position of Credit and Collections is designed to provide virtual support of the Finance Function in managing all aspects of our Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Using daily reports from Finance they will address customers contractual obligations to insure compliance with agreed to terms and conditions maintained by the Contract Manager for payment terms. They will notify and contact delinquent customers when credit terms are not being met and request them to make their account current per the agreement. They will notify sales that a delinquency has been unresolved and with the Approval of the COO will suspend future collaboration until they can meet agreed to terms. They will work with delinquent accounts to insure they meet collection terms for past due amounts. They will monitor the current status of all credit notes issued by Customer Service and insure they are used for product sales and not delinquent payments.

Further, they will monitor the payment by vendors for short ships, defective or incorrect products received by the warehouse and insure the proper credit note or refund is provided. They will notify Buying with the current status of credit notes on our account to insure Finance is deducting them from current purchases.

They will have a dotted line relationship with the Finance Manager and interface with them on a weekly basis. In the course of their function they will develop our credit and collections guideline, make recommendations for specific contract terms negotiated with Customers and Vendors and work with Contract Managers in identifying opportunities to renegotiate terms and make specific recommendations relative to terms and conditions for both Customers and Vendors.

Specific Skills and Position Requirements

• 3+ years in credit and collections experience
• University degree in Accounting or Business Finance
• Negotiating Skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Computer literacy
• Operational familiarity with MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
• Analytical skills.
