Project Monitoring Assitant

HelpAge International is a global network striving for the rights of disadvantaged older people to economic and physical security; healthcare and social services; and support in their care-giving role across the generations.

Irish Aid are now funding the project “Realizing older people’s rights in Moldova”. HelpAge International is working with the Moldovan NGO Second Breath, together with a network of community organisations across the country to implement this project. We are now recruiting:

Project Monitoring Assistant – Ref: PMA0707

As the assistant to the Project Monitoring Officer, you will help train monitors from groups of older people and community organisation leaders on project methodology and management. You will visit the 10 project sites to meet the monitors as well as the older people benefiting from our project and with Primaria representatives. As a participant of the project steering groups meetings you will help to plan, monitor and evaluate the project’s effectiveness. You will assist in collecting and verifying data from the project to prepare reports, as well as giving clear information to older people on their rights and entitlements.

You will have two years experience of aspects of project monitoring. You will have keen observational skills with strong attention to detail. You are analytical and have good reporting skills. You enjoy working with people from different age groups and you have a natural ability to communicate clearly and sensitively. You are expected to be comfortable working with computers and office equipment, have fluent Romanian and Russian, and a good ability to work with English.

The position is based in Chisinau, is part time and fixed term until 1st July 2009.
