Project finance assistant

HelpAge International helps older people claim their rights, challenge discrimination and overcome poverty, so that they can lead dignified, secure, active and healthy lives.

We work with our partners to ensure that people everywhere understand how much older people contribute to society and that they must enjoy their right to healthcare, social services, economic and physical security. We do this by supporting practical programmes, giving a voice to older people and influencing policy at local, national and international levels.

To support implementation of the project “Community based home care and active ageing” funded by the Swiss Red Cross, HelpAge International is looking for the following position:

Project Finance Assistant


You will be directly responsible to assist HelpAge International Finance Manager with the finance function of the project including systems development and implementation, working with eight partner NGOs and Older People Groups (OPGs) in Soldanesti and Resina. You will assist with all aspects of financial and management accounting for the project, to ensure reporting requirements and minimum standards are achieved as per donor contract and legal requirements of Moldova. You will be directly guided by and report to HelpAge International Finance Manager.

You must have at least 2 years experience in finance (and accountancy qualification or equivalent). Excellent IT and good English language skills are required.


The post is based in Chisinau and is a full time position with the initial one year contract starting from 1 February 2014.
