POSITION SUMMARY:
Develop and execute marketing programs and lead business analysis and project management.
Develop an overall marketing strategy to differentiate the brand, strengthen consumer awareness and overall engagement.
Be an active member within the team and collaborate with cross-functional groups across the organization.
Effectively represent brands with our internal sales team, distributor network, retail trade and consumers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for development and execution of strategic and annual marketing plans which address all aspects of the marketing mix including pricing, packaging, advertising, promotion, public relations, digital marketing, market research, and new product development.
• Build premium consumer/ trade equity for the brand through the design and execution of consumer and trade strategies including advertising, promotion, public relations, digital marketing and special events.
• Perform on-going business and competitive analyses and provide findings and recommendations for corrective action where appropriate to Senior Management (Sales Director and General Director).
• Manage brand projects, overall budget allocation, prepare and present branded presentations to both internal and external audiences.
• Manage all outside agency initiatives in support of the brand’s business objectives to include promotion agency, digital and advertising agencies if applicable.
• Work with sales leadership, internal sales force, distributor personnel, and key national account buyers to develop marketing programs and identify opportunities to expand the business in existing channels of trade.
• Visit key markets in support of market blitzes, new product launches, surveys, etc. and report brand and competitive findings as well as any market driven recommendations to Senior Management.
• Successfully communicate and work with a large number of key internal groups across the organization on a regular basis including; Promotions, National Events, Public Relations, Creative Services, Finance, Hospitality, Wine Guild, Donor Funding Programs/Projects, Winery Operations and Production (vineyard management, winemaking, packaging technology, production, transportation etc.).
• Communicate on a regular basis with the Sales Director and General Director, ensuring strategy and projects are on track, gaining support and guidance.
• Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback and coaching to direct reports on a regular basis.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree required
• 4-6 years experience in Brand Management/Marketing Management position in consumer product company; wine industry experience preferred.
• Experience in identifying key consumer insights, refining brand positioning and developing brand strategies.
• Experience managing agencies to create consumer facing, creative point of sale/merchandising materials, which support that positioning
• Proven desire and ability to think creatively coupled with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills; very articulate, strong public speaking and writing skills, strong interpersonal skills, strong cross functional skills, ability to work well within a team.
• Excellent organizational, ability to prioritize, excellent project management skills, and solid financial acumen.
• Strong PC skills.
• Successful candidate will be a very motivated self-starter and be able to work without daily guidance.
• A passion for and desire to be immersed in the wine business.
