Manual Test Engineer

One of the world’s top investment banks is opening a position of a Manual Test Engineer. The successful candidate will work within a new team creating a booking service within the European Cash area of Equities IT. This team will develop a key regional system performing the difficult task of interfacing between front office and settlement systems.
Works closely with all QA team members, Business Analysts and Application Development teams to develop test cases and thoroughly test the application based on defined business rules and requirements. The test engineer must be able to multitask and use all facets of Test Director. The test engineer needs superior communication skills (both oral and written) and the ability to work in either a team environment or independently, as needed.
Responsibilities Include: 1. Involvement in projects from test preparation phase through deployment; 2. Working with QA lead to enter and maintain requirements in TestDirector; 3. Developing Test Cases, Test Data and generating Daily Status Reports; 4. Conducting confidence, functional, and regression tests using TestLab; 5. Reporting test results by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data; 6. Tracking and reporting software defects and verifying resolved issues; 7. Recommending software changes [enhancements]. 8. Test data transformations against Sybase and Oracle databases; 9. Working under pressure; 10. Flexibility with working hours to allow for testing applications across global regions.
Business & Technical Expertise: TestDirector - All Modules [Expert Level].
Nonessential but preferred skills WinRunner is a plus; Knowledge of UML (writing use cases) is a plus; Experience in SQL scripting is a plus.
Work conditions:
This assignment requires a permanent move to London, UK. The company provides the work permit in the UK. After a year spent on-site, the candidate will have an option either to stay in London, or join an off-shore part of the development team in a senior technical or managerial role. The company offers very competitive compensation package for successful candidates.
