Java developer

As part of the role, you will be required to keep up to date with latest trends and technologies, and see how these can be best used in our projects. The chosen candidate will be involved in the design, development, testing and maintenance of the company’s product. This will require the translation of high level business requirements into system design within the existing system architecture as dictated by project requirements. You will also be responsible for the supervision, training and mentoring of junior team members, while also keeping up to date with latest technologies and implementing them within the team process. Additional responsibilities will include the creation and maintenance of software documentation, the construction of Proof of Concepts and the assessment of their viability.

The chosen candidate will hold a degree in Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification, and will hold experience in a similar role. You will demonstrate an expertise with Java and Java Frameworks, Object-Oriented design and development principles, and will possess hands-on experience with Java Application Servers, relational databases and NoSQL data stores, HTML, CSS and Javascript. The chosen candidate will have excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, together with a hard-working approach, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, yet casual work environment. Working experience in Agile practices will be considered a strong asset.
