BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
The position will involve performance of a variety of security-related functions aimed at the protection of the U.S. Government property and personnel from fire, damage and theft. Controls entry of Embassy employees and visitors, ensuring no contraband or unauthorized items are brought onto the Embassy compound. The guard will thoroughly inspect each incoming vehicle, opening the gate only for vehicles authorized compound access. Must be vigilant and alert at all times to possible disturbances in order to prevent the entry of unauthorized persons onto the Embassy’s grounds. Guards are required to work some evening and weekends on a rotating basis.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Completion of secondary school is required.
2. No experience is required.
3. Level 2 (Limited Knowledge) speaking/reading English is required. This will be tested. Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) speaking/reading Romanian and Russian is required. (Please indicate in the Application form/resume the level of knowledge of all three languages)
4. Incumbents must be in excellent health and physical condition. Must be able to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with the public.
