Freight Dispatcher

About the Role:
DPS TRUCK is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Freight Dispatcher to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the movement of freight, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries while maintaining strong relationships with drivers, clients, and carriers. Your ability to think quickly and manage multiple tasks will directly impact our operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and dispatch freight shipments based on customer requirements and availability of trucks.
- Communicate with drivers, customers, and carriers to provide updates, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor shipments in real-time using tracking systems and adjust routes or schedules as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of loads, routes, delivery times, and other logistics data.
- Negotiate rates with carriers and ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
- Collaborate with the sales and operations team to optimize load planning and route efficiency.
- Address and resolve any delays, accidents, or service disruptions professionally.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a freight dispatcher or in a logistics/transportation role preferred.
- Strong understanding of freight brokerage, load boards, and transportation regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in logistics software, dispatch systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or business is a plus.
