ESL Trainer

The primary duties of the ESL Trainer will be to teach ESL to adults (Non-Native Speakers of English) as well as other content-specific ESL courses and training programs. Teaching/training assignments will most likely include morning and/or evening classes at the «CMB» Training Center, as well as intensive training programs when required. The successful candidate will also assist the English Language Training Program Director with program and curriculum development, assessment, program evaluation. This person will also participate in community outreach including the recruitment and advisement of students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1) Excellent command of English (both verbal and written);
2) Keen interest in ESL Language Teaching/Training;

ADVANTAGES:

3) Moldova University Degree (or PostGraduate Degree) in Foreign Languages: English Philology/Linguistics ( including applied linguistics, English, composition, bilingual/bicultural studies, reading, speech);
4) Foreign Certificates/Diplomas on ESL Teaching from Accredited Institutions;
5) Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, political and ethnic backgrounds issues.


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

 One or more years of teaching/training in English as a Second Language to adults;
 Evidence of a strong commitment to teach and to remain current in the field of second language acquisition, including alternate/innovative methods of delivery;
 Commitment to continued professional development and participation in professional organizations including ESL and Developmental Education;
 Experience that would indicate ability to assist in program and curriculum development and assessment.
