Driver (Водитель)

The U.S. Embassy in Chisinau, Moldova is seeking an individual for employment as Driver in the Marine Security Guard section.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

Incumbent will serve as a Marine Security Guard Detachment driver. Working under the direct supervision of the Detachment Commander and the Marine Security Guard Detachment the incumbent will be responsible for safely and securely transporting MSG personnel and/or other passengers from one location to another. Performs pick-up and delivery of authorized items for MSG personnel. Maintains the security and integrity of the vehicle(s) by remaining with them at all times when not at the Embassy, CMR, or MSGR. Maintains assigned vehicle(s) in clean and serviceable condition and performs minor maintenance of a preventive nature, advising supervisor and/or mechanic of problems that require technical maintenance or repair.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

1. Completion of secondary school is required.

2. Minimum of two (2) years of chauffeur or driving experience (significant portion of duties) is required.

3. Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) speaking/reading English is required. This will be tested. Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) speaking/reading Romanian and Russian is required. (Please indicate in the Application form/resume the level of knowledge of all three languages)

4. Knowledge of local traffic laws and area traffic patterns is required. Knowledge of local and limited international routes is required.

5. Must have a valid type "B" and "C" local driver’s license. Must be competent in diagnosing and handling preventive maintenance and basic automotive repairs.
