Chief Accountant

IDS Consulting is seeking a Chief Accountant for an international company (manufacturing the automotive interior systems), Ungheni.

Position Objectives:

- ensures that accounting practices and procedures are consistently applied in accordance with local statutory requirements and where differences between these requirements and the US GAAP and Company’s policy requirements exist that they are properly identified and tracked;
- supports the design and effective operation of the internal control environment and coordinates the external audit requirements for both U.S. and local statutory reporting purposes;
- coordinates and monitors the work performed by internal audit and supports the tax, treasury, legal and human resource functions as needed.

Primary responsibilities on the position held:
- Statutory compliance, including consolidations where necessary;
- Tax compliance (unless there is a dedicated tax manager in country when the role becomes strong support), including consolidation as appropriate
- Ensuring timely and accurate reporting of actuals, monitoring resource to ensure that;
- Balance sheet reviews, at least annual frequency (over and above divisional bi-annual review);
- Support in country shared service initiatives;
- Liaison with external auditors;
- Supporting plant and CFD controllers in all of the above areas.

Professional Qualifications:
- University degree in Accounting/Finance;
- CPA or equivalent certification is required;
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, local statutory rules, COSO’s integrated internal control
framework, Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 requirements, and controls over financial reporting.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, at a senior manager level;
- Knowledge of automotive production processes;
- Proficiency in Romanian, Russian and English;
