BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE (BI) ANALYST PROGRAMMER

Description:
The BI analyst programmer role is to define, develop, test, analyze and maintain new and existing BI reports and framework models. This includes developing and maintaining new and existing data marts using ETL tools to support the achievement of business requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Develop extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes with SQL Server SSIS Packages
- Drive data warehouse architectural decisions
- Create detailed technical specifications and release documentation for assigned ETL and reporting projects
- Collaborate with the business subject matter experts, business analysts, functional leads, architects and technical leads from other disciplines to architect and design BI solutions
- Multi-task across several ongoing projects and daily duties of varying priorities as required
- Accurately estimate effort and duration for development efforts related to enhancements and projects
- Assist with the development and preparation of project plans and schedules
- Organize assignments and prioritize work to ensure that project deadlines are met and customer expectations are exceeded
- Provide input into each phase of the systems development cycle as required
- Ensure adherence to published development standards and database best practices, resulting in consistent implementation of project components
- Ensures data integrity, performance quality, and resolution of data load failures

Requirements:
- Relevant diploma or Bachelor’s degree
- 1-3 years Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence development in SQL Server 2005 and/or higher, including writing T-SQL, SSIS packages, SSAS and SSRS
- Advanced knowledge of relational database structure, tables, views and stored procedures
- Strong understanding of dimensional processing
- Willingness to perform standby duties
- Willing to travel when required
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to negotiate and problem solve using good judgment
- Data Mining/Predictive Modeling experience is a big plus
