Applications Engineer

COMTEK International, a US consulting company with over 10 years experience in Information Technologies, is looking for: Applications Engineer

Compensation: depending on experience and communication skills from $3000 to
$4000 per month (including per Diem) plus paid hotel/apartment plus all relocation expenses.
Location: Bucharest, Romania
Length: 6 - 12 months
Required Experience: at least 3 years
English – required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE LEVEL REQUIRED OF THE JOB-HOLDER

2-3 years or more of experience working in an embedded development environment as it relates to the specifics below.


The ideal candidate has most if not all of the following skills and experience:
1. Experience with one or more of the following Freescale embedded architectures: StarCore, PowerPC, DSP 568xx (Hawk Hybrid); or experience with a competitive DSP platform
2. Experience with developing embedded applications in one or more of the following industries: network infrastructure, wireless communications, automotive/aerospace/transportation
3. Experience with one or more commercial RTOS’s
4. Experience with CodeWarrrior and other embedded programming tools
5. Expertise in one or more programming languages: C mandatory, C++ preferred; Assembly highly desirable
6. Customer contact and interfacing experience
7. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Key point of contact for technical support issues for FAEs working on projects with key customers
2. Final escalation resource as CodeWarrior Expert for TIC support engineers
3. Setup and integration of CodeWarrior tools and products within the customer environment
4. Provide service for installation, tools and hardware bring up assistance and upgrade/update assistance in the customer environment
5. Provide creative solutions and workarounds to address customer issues
6. Strong interaction with CodeWarrior teams as customer advocate
a. Engineering and marketing team providing defect and feature enhancement feedback
b. Technical Publications to provide documentation improvement requests
c. Training to create and deliver training materials to technical audiences
7. Perform service request tracking utlizing Seibel to ensure timely resolution.
8. Isolate defects and enter information in formal defect tracking systems
9. Use CodeWarrior tools to develop code samples and applications as would be done in a customer environment
10. Develop content usable in technical documentation: trainings, seminars, FAQ’s, Knowledgebase, etc.
11. Provide usability and pre-release testing and input on beta tools
12. Obtain and manage customer code to assist in creating automated testing
13. On-site customer visits (potentially for extended periods of time) and travel may be required
