Background:
The European Commission and UNDP have undertaken preparatory work towards the establishment of an EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine. This Mission will notably help enhance the capacities of Moldovan and Ukrainian services to adequately ensure customs and border controls and border surveillance along their common border.
Tasks and responsibilities:
•Assure smooth operational running of the project by means of following UNDP and EC established operational rules and procedures;
•Facilitate oral translations/interpretations from/into English – Russian and Romanian during EUBAM events, meetings, training/learning activities;
•Provide written translations of documents and other paper work from English into Romanian or Russian and vice versa as required by the project;
•Participate in preparation, implementation and follow up of project activities;
•Facilitate field visits, missions of the experts;
•Proofread and/or edit the project’s correspondence and other official documents;
•Prepare project related correspondence;
•Be able to travel within the country and abroad when required by the project;
Qualifications and skills required:
•University degree in English, Romanian and Russian languages or related fields;
•At least 3 years of progressive experience in international environment or other international projects;
•Excellent fluency (both oral and written) in English, Romanian and Russian languages;
•Ability to work in team; under continuous pressure and meet deadlines;
•Energetic optimistic approach to all possible problems;
•Strong interpersonal and computer skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and quick typing);
•Proactive problem solving skills and ability to quickly master new rules and procedures.
