Technical Support Engineer

Technical Support Engineer

Gilat Satellite Networks Technical Support Team is Providing Support and Solutions for Gilat products and services. Technical Support Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, monitoring, configuration, restoration, and analysis of Gilat customer’s network services and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 2 and 3 Technical Support.
  • Detect and triage emerging anomalies and issues on satellite platforms, networking equipment (Cisco, Juniper) and various kinds of servers and operating systems.
  • Provide customer support to Internet Service Providers and Enterprise Customers
  • Interact with highly qualified Customer Engineering and Support Teams as a vendor Representative, tickets are being handled over Ticketing Systems and not by phone.
  • Ability to gather, organize and analyze large amounts of data, detect relationships and make decisions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Fluency in English, excellent written and verbal communication (min B2)
  • 1+ year of professional experience in a network, IT, or security setting including but not limited to a Network Operation Center (NOC), Security Operation Center (SOC), etc. 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment that includes working with changing needs and requirements
  • Experience in mission-critical operations where outstanding attention to detail is required to ensure success
  • Certifications, Courses (or knowledge) including Cisco, Juniper, CompTIA, LPIC or other industry certifications
  • Nice to have: Experience with troubleshooting complex systems with data analysis.
  • Nice to have: Basic software experience in Python, SQL, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with service provider and home networks technologies including but not limited to:

                    o  Connectivity (Ethernet, WiFi, IPv4, IPv6)
                    o  Switching and Routing
                    o  Internet services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, NAT)
                    o  Linux Operating Systems
