Senior Full-stack Developer (PHP/React), Chisinau

WorldcomFinance runs a cross-border money-transfer and payments platform used by agents, partners and customers across many corridors. We're scaling our engineering out of a new development centre in Moldova and modernising the platform onto a cloud-native stack.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend and frontend systems using PHP and React
• Develop and support compliance-related products and functionality, including KYC/AML workflows, transaction monitoring, regulatory reporting, and audit logs
• Build and integrate REST APIs and third-party services, including KYC providers, payment systems, and banks
• Take ownership of the full development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and technical design to deployment and production support
• Work closely with the Compliance, Product, Mobile, QA, and Engineering teams to translate business and regulatory requirements into technical solutions
• Participate in technical decisions and contribute to architecture improvements
• Conduct code reviews, refactor legacy code, and maintain high code quality
• Support and gradually modernize legacy PHP services
• Mentor less experienced developers and contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and testing

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong experience with PHP and Laravel or similar frameworks
• Strong commercial experience with React
• Solid knowledge of MySQL and/or PostgreSQL
• Strong experience with REST APIs and third-party integrations
• Good understanding of Git, CI/CD, testing, and Agile practices
• Experience working with complex business requirements and translating them into technical solutions
• English B2+ — comfortable communicating daily with international teams
• Practical experience using AI tools in development
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
