Senior DevOps Engineer, Chisinau

ABOUT THE ROLE
WorldcomFinance runs a cross-border money-transfer and payments platform used by agents, partners and customers across many corridors. We're scaling our engineering out of a new development centre in Moldova and modernising the platform onto a cloud-native stack. As our Senior DevOps Engineer you'll own the infrastructure, delivery pipelines and observability that keep a regulated financial platform fast, reliable and secure — with real ownership from day one and a part-time Lead DevOps to partner with.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own infrastructure as code — design, review and evolve our Terraform estate across environments (dev / staging / production) on AWS.
• Run our Kubernetes platform — operate and harden EKS clusters, Helm charts, autoscaling, and workload reliability for dozens of
• services.
• Own GitOps delivery — maintain the ArgoCD app-of-apps and GitHub Actions CI/CD so every service ships safely and repeatably.
• Make the platform observable — grow our Grafana / Loki / Prometheus / CloudWatch stack: dashboards, alerts, log pipelines and SLOs that catch issues before customers do.
• Secure the pipeline and the cloud — manage secrets (External Secrets Operator, AWS Secrets Manager, SOPS/KMS) and work with WAF, GuardDuty and SecurityHub to keep a regulated platform compliant.
• Drive reliability & cost — improve resilience, tighten cost (right-sizing, lifecycle policies, spend reviews), and reduce toil through automation.
• Support the developers — make it easy for backend (NestJS / PHP) and frontend (React) teams to build, test, deploy and debug; contribute to on-call and incident response.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 4+ years in DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering running production cloud workloads.
• Strong AWS and hands-on Terraform (writing and reviewing IaC, not just applying it).
• Solid Kubernetes in production — deployments, Helm, networking, troubleshooting.
• Built and owned CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar) and GitOps delivery.
• Comfortable in Linux and scripting (Bash / Python); solid on networking, DNS, TLS.
• An observability and security mindset — you instrument, alert and least-privilege by default.
• Clear written English and a collaborative, ownership-driven way of working.

BONUS POINTS

• Experience in fintech / payments / regulated environments.
• ArgoCD, External Secrets Operator, or SOPS specifically.
• Cloud cost optimisation at scale (FinOps).
• Grafana / Loki / Prometheus stack ownership.
• Familiarity operating Node.js (NestJS) and PHP (Laravel) applications.
• Database operations across MySQL / PostgreSQL / MongoDB / Redis.
