Monitoring Analyst / AML & Compliance

Moorwand is a global fintech company providing innovative payment and banking solutions for businesses, FinTech’s, and Electronic Money Institutions (EMIs). Through its platform, Moorwand enables secure international transfers, card programmes, and financial services across multiple markets.

Moorwand is expanding its Monitoring Team and is looking for a Monitoring Analyst to join its function in the Chisinau office.

The primary responsibility of this role will be to support the ongoing monitoring of financial transactions and customer activity, helping to identify potential fraud risks, suspicious behaviour, and compliance-related concerns.

The Monitoring Team plays a key role in supporting fintech partners and EMIs by overseeing daily transaction activity across both bank transfers and card payments through Moorwand’s internal monitoring tools. This position offers valuable exposure to operational and regulatory processes, including AML, sanctions compliance, and fraud prevention, and provides an opportunity to contribute directly to risk mitigation, issue resolution, and client protection.

Job Description

Monitor customer transactions and account activity to detect unusual or suspicious behaviour, including fraud, AML, and sanctions-related risks
Review alerts and cases, conducting timely investigations and escalating issues when necessary
Support the documentation and resolution of cases related to APP fraud, scams, and other financial crime typologies
Maintain accurate case records in line with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards
Assist in identifying trends and recommending improvements to monitoring controls, processes, and detection methods
Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Finance teams to support effective risk management and decision-making

Essential Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience in fintech, payments, banking, or financial services
English level B1 or higher (written and spoken) – mandatory
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and the ability to identify risk indicators in transaction data
Basic understanding of AML, sanctions, and financial crime compliance frameworks is an advantage
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while working independently and handling sensitive information responsibly
Understanding of the banking and financial technology sectors is considered a strong advantage
Experience with Mastercard, issuing, or chargebacks is beneficial but not essential
